Červený Kameň (The Red Stone) is a castle on the southeastern slope of the Small Carpathians near Modra, above the village of Častá. The castle stood already in the middle of the 13th century and was part of the border system of castles, stretching from Bratislava to Žilina. This original castle disappeared in the first half of the 16th century, when its then owners, the Fuggers, built a new fortress around its perimeter in the years 1535-1557 with extensive storage cellars.
